Lots of things....

So I jotted down a list of topics that I wanted to talk about in this post tonight. I know I am a huge geek, but I am a prepared geek. The only issue is I am really tired and don’t feel like going into all of them in detail. Looking at my list I see one that should be its own post because it is goofy enough on its own. I will touch on a few of the topics and save some for another time and another dimension.

If you haven’t played the game in the last post I would suggest you do so before reading further.

I hope all like the game and I hope you all figured out what the answer was. If not I have officially lost a total of eleven point nine pounds so far. That amazingly brings me to twenty five percent of my goal. I know some people have made mention that they notice, but I really don’t. It may be that I see myself every day in the mirror and don’t notice the gradual change that is taking place. I just see the numbers and it is hard for me to believe. I do know I feel so much better than I have in a long time. Even if I don’t lose that much weight it is worth it just how much better I feel. I hope all of you stick with me to see just how far this rabbit hole goes.

In case anyone was wondering the 12 IN 24 challenge is cancelled. There is no way I would be able to achieve the goal and it would probably not be that healthy for me to actually reach it. Now I am just filling time until I can give another 30 day active challenge the full time it needs. This will actually happen in a few weeks from now. I am actually looking forward to starting the new challenge. While I enjoy my custom workout there is something to be said for the structure of the challenge. It also forces me to do some of the workouts that I am not really a fan of, but are probably pretty good for me. I tend to look past the jumping ones to the stay solid on the ground.

So describe Active I hate to start the workouts, I like working out once I start, and I love the feeling after I get done. It is a huge love hate relationship I am having with it. Take tonight for example. I almost didn’t work out. I just wasn’t feeling it and then I made myself. During the workout I was feeling good and now I feel wonderful. I am of course rather tired. I find you need to take the Peter Pan approach to working out. You need to have a “happy thought” or something that motivates you. If you have that thought in your head nothing can stop you. The nice thing is you don’t need creepy fairies or dust to succeed. I know it is a strange way to think about it, but it works.

Those are all my topics for tonight. I really only have one more topic, but that is the one I think deserves its own post. I also have a few things I can add to that post to make it more complete. I apologize for the length of this post. I know I said I would only touch on the topics, but once I start going there is no stopping. I would make a movie reference to what I just wrote, but I am afraid I will be showing my geek side. If you can guess what it is you get an extra bonus point that can be used in the lightning round.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Another Week

So instead of just telling you what my weigh in revealed I have created a little flash game. All you need to do is click on start and then guess which number is correct.

Update: I should mention that at the last weigh in I was at 9 lbs for my total. That was on September 15th. Also the flash has some sound so make sure your speakers/volume are/is on.

Have a happy and healthy one.

31 Minutes of My Life

Tonight I have decided to create another custom workout and I have decided to share it with you. The routine last around 31 minutes, has 26 exercises, and is supposed to burn around 205 calories. It needs a little bit of tweaking, but is still a pretty good routine. So here is what I have:

Standing Twist (H)
Alternating Cross Knee Punch (H)
Run & Walk Short (M)
Alternating Bicep Curls (H)
Alternating Tricep Kickbacks (H)
Lateral Shoulder Raises (H)
Targets 4 (H)
Targets 4 (H)
Alternating Side Lounges (H)
Squots (M)
Alternating Standing Knee Crunches (H)
Tennis Back Court (H)
Targets 4 (H)
Targets 4 (H)
Run & Walk Short (M)
Alternating Bicep Curls (H)
Font Shoulder Raise (H)
Upright Rows (H)
Tennis Back Court (H)
Targets 4 (H)
Targets 4 (H)
Alternating Side Lunges w/ Toe Touches (H)
Alternating Lunges (H)
Random Dancing Pro (H)
Run & Walk (M)
Tennis Back Court (H)

There you have my work out for tonight. If case you were wondering E is for easy, M is for medium, and H is for hard. The real difference is the number of reps that you do. Tennis also seems to be a bit faster. I tend to do hard on most of the work outs. It is the leg exercises that I will use one of the lower settings.

Day 8

I suppose I should do a real update instead of the last few I have done. My exercising has been really hit and miss this week. I did get a good workout yesterday. I also received a new trophy for hitting 10 hours of workout time. I think I am down to around 4 or 5 trophies left. One is working out with someone else. Have to find someone to come and work out with me. Of course that might be a bit strange of sorts.

The good news for today is I got two really good walks in today even though I didn’t get my full exercise in. In total I walked around 2 ½ miles today. It was pretty good. If only I was able to do this every day.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Day 7

Edison once said "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." That is how I have been feeling the last few days.

Day 4

It is another day down and another exercise notch on my belt. All in all it was a good exercise today. I am going to look into making some adjustments to my custom work out. There are a couple things I am not a huge fan of and I think I could add a couple things in the mix to make it a better work out. At the moment the work out is around 45 minutes long and burns about 300 calories. I think with some improvements I could get another 30-40 calories in. Of course this may push the work out to a full hour. That would mean I would have to make sure I schedule my work out to an earlier time.

So on a negative thinking streak; I am unsure I can actually reach my goal. It is a huge goal to reach and I am not sure what I was thinking. Maybe I am just in some sort of mood today.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Today's Random Post

So the funny for tonight is that I stopped at Target on my happenings for today and found something in the dollar section in the front of the store. It was a resistance cable and it only cost $0.62. It was at 75% off. It was the last one in the bin and I laughed when I saw it. It doesn’t seem to be the most resistant, but for the price why not. I am unsure as to what I am going to use it for. Maybe I will bring it to work or leave it in my computer room to use while I watch old TV shows. Today it is Stargate SG1 season 7. Right now I am watching the Lost City episode.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Day 3

Today is indeed a brand new day. I did my best to step it up today. I spent around an hour and twenty minutes working out. Now of course I am pretty tired and I worked out this afternoon. I have come up with a really good routine that is about 45 minutes long and burns almost 300 calories. I think I burned about 520 calories today alone. I am hoping that I can carry this forward to the remaining 21 days of the challenge. The one thing I can say that will help push me is that I actually feel really good today after the work out. No better motivation like feeling good. Well I am sure there is, but for the sake of this post there is not.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Day 2

This did not turn out to be the best day of the challenge. I was in a mood of sorts and didn't end up exercising today. I even went to a fast food place and got dinner. To be fair it was Subway which is fairly healthy. It is just a good thing it wasn't Taco Bell. I am just going to call this day a failure and move on. Tomorrow is another day.

Have a happy and healthy one.

Day 1

Here we have the first post of the new challenge. I am still working on setting up some good custom exercises that I can use for my work outs. The one I did tonight consisted of all the resistance band exercises mixed with boxing and a few sports to liven things up a bit. Outside the Wii I had a 30 minute walk, some hand weight work, and I got on my stationary bike for the first time in a long time. I didn’t do much time on the bike, but plan on working this into the schedule.

So this is my first day and I am thinking it worked out pretty well. Once I get the routine down it will go much smoother. I am also going to attempt to pick up the pace a bit more. If I want to succeed at this challenge it is going to take all that I have and maybe a little that I don’t. I am sure in the end it will work out in my favor.

Have a happy and healthy one.

New Site

Welcome to the new site. I still have a bit more work to do to get the site to where I want it, but it works for now. If you see anything you don't like or think of something that could be added let me know. I am always open to thoughts of others.

Have a happy and healthy one.
